About 160 miles in the last 2 days — mostly flat. We rolled into Gila Bend about 4 PM — The wecome sign says 1700 nice people and 5 crabs! Stayed at the space age hotel — quite the hot spot!
I had this great moment yesterday— we were riding on the interstate (no other choice – but the condition was perfect and the shoulder is a good 10- 12 feet, so lots of room). Anyway, i was blasting music (Grazing in the Grass at the moment), and I had cars and trucks whizzing by on the left, and then a freight train started passing in the distance no the right – we were all moving in the same direction at different speeds, but it just brought out the fun in what I’m doing.
Our group leader, Dennis, who owns the company, shared that one of the former riders would rise every day and call it the “Best Day Ever”! And that’s how I feel, even with the soreness.
